If you buy branded pluggable transceivers, DACs or cables for your projects, you know how expensive they can be. Sol Distribution can provide low-cost alternatives that are of equal quality, often with lower power consumption than official modules, and all at a fraction of the price.
Compatible Transceivers
At Sol Distribution, we can supply a wide variety of transceivers from a number of different vendors, including original OEM products from manufacturers like Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, ADVA Optical Networking and Transition Networks, as well as compatible transceivers from 3rd party ODMs such as Finisar, the worlds biggest optical transceiver manufacturer.

Direct Attach Copper Cables (DAC)
Sol Distribution’s extensive range of Direct Attach Cables (DAC) are high-quality, shielded cables equipped with SFP connectors on both ends. DAC cables are becoming increasingly popular, not just within data centres but within the wider IT industry, as they offer a very cost effective, efficient and easy way of making connections, in comparison with regular optics and cables. DAC cables are used for connecting switches, routers, servers or other fibre optic equipment with SFP/SFP ports for Network Attached Storage or High-Performance Computing. At Sol Distribution, we stock a large selection of high-quality DAC cables that are compatible with all major vendors, such as Cisco, HP, Arista, Juniper etc.
Active Optical Cables (AOC)
Active Optical Cables (AOC) are a type of cable which is similar to a direct attach cable (DAC) in that it accepts the same electrical inputs as a traditional copper cable, but uses optical fiber cable between the connectors instead of copper. AOC uses electrical-to-optical conversion on the cable ends to improve speed and distance performance of the cable without sacrificing compatibility with standard electrical interfaces.
