Thanks to all the attendees of our 2nd Charity Golf Day

Sol Distribution would like to give massive thanks to everyone who attended our 2nd Charity Golf Day on Wednesday 18th May 2022 at Oswestry Golf Club, Shropshire. Special thanks to those who stepped up last minute to play in the tournament despite originally registering to play in the golf clinic.

We were very lucky with the weather, and although the bright sunshine and 20+ degree temperatures did leave some of the participants with a bit of sunburn, an enjoyable day was had by all, and we received plenty of positive feedback.

Thanks to our vendor partners Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, ADVA Optical Networking, CertaUPS, Cubro Network Visibility, Lantronix and VIAVI Solutions for sponsoring the day and providing the fantastic prizes for the tournament, as well as participating. Thanks as well to our partners Amillan, AzteQ Group, BKNC, Computacenter, Capita, Commscope, Cremello, KCS, Kedron UK, Insight UK, Lace, Nos Communicare, Trustmarque, and UK Netcom for attending, and making it our best event yet.

In addition to the main tournament, we also held a golf clinic this year for the non-golfers, which we had a lot of positive feedback from, and will be doing again at our next event. All won Titleist golf caps sponsored by ADVA Optical Networking:

Putting Competition: Martin Naylor, Sol Distribution.

Chipping Competition: Jay Ouwehand, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.

Driving Competition: David Upsher, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise.

In addition to the golf competitions, we also held a raffle, with all donations going to our charity The Movement Centre which raised a massive £1,740, which is nearly double what we raised from the last event. Special thanks to Ian Revell from WWT and David Newsome from Computacenter for sending donations despite not being able to attend.

About The Movement Centre

Based at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, which is located just outside Oswestry, The Movement Centre is a UK charity and specialist treatment centre dedicated to supporting children and their families living with movement disabilities.

They have a small but dedicated team who work closely with families to provide specialist therapy to help children gain movement control. This therapy can enable children to develop new skills and become far more independent.  This can have a huge impact on their life. It can also make a big difference to the lives of their family and friends.

As a charity, The Movement Centre relies on the kind support of donors and fundraisers. It would be impossible for them to continue their work without them. If you are interested in finding out more about Targeted Training therapy or how to support the work of The Movement Centre, please visit their website at
