Data Networking Engineer

Sol Distribution is a value-added distributor of networking infrastructure products and their associated services. We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Data Networking Engineer to provide the highest levels of support, implementation, design and technical expertise on data solutions for a range of enterprise and public sector customers as well as internal teams.

This customer-facing role will see the successful candidate working as part of a small team to provide customers with expert-level technical knowledge, support and design services on a range of data and wireless solutions. You will be required to acquire and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the company’s product portfolio, in particular the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise product set including the OmniSwitch and OmniAccess range.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the sales team to assist them in recommending the most cost-effective solutions to potential customers.
  • Engage with customers; understand requirements, and present recommendations on the most appropriate solutions and/or services to achieve their goals.
  • Undertake training to acquire and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of the company’s product portfolio including Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise, Transition Networks, MRV Communications, Viavi Solutions and others.
  • After suitable training, be able to carry out design, implementation and support activities for customer solutions, utilising multiple vendors.
  • Remotely provide 1st and 2nd line support and troubleshooting advice to customers as required.
  • Lead internal teams and 3rd parties in the delivery and implementation of customer solutions.
  • Deliver training programmes to customers on all data products, services, solutions and applications.
  • Train and mentor internal team members to develop skills and knowledge across the business.

 

Key Skills & Experience

  • Solid previous network support and implementation experience gained with a Reseller, Systems Integrator, Telco, Carrier, ISP, Network Service Provider or similar type of technology solution provider.
  • Experience working with Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, HP, Juniper or Aruba.
  • Preferably CCNA and CCNP qualified, or equivalent recognised data networking qualifications.
  • Alcatel-Lucent engineering qualifications (ACSE, ACFE), though not essential would be a definite advantage, and the candidate will be expected to undertake these qualifications.
  • Experience in delivering training to customers and internal teams.
  • Experience of designing and documenting data and wireless solutions as per customer specifications.
  • Able to provide a high level of customer service and support.
  • Highly organised, have good problem solving skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and have good attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive and willingness to travel.

Telesales Executive

 

The Company:

Sol Distribution is a well-respected, UK-based, value-added distributor of IT hardware, specialising in networking products and their associated services. We are interested in talking to suitably qualified and experienced sales people to help us achieve our ambitious growth plans.

 

The Role:

We are currently seeking experienced telesales professionals with a solid track record within outbound business to business telesales. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and have superior people skills. You must be comfortable presenting products, and/or services over the telephone. Knowledge of networking and IT would be an advantage.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Make outbound calls to prospective customers
  • Work to daily / weekly targets
  • Make outbound business to business calls
  • Book meetings and demonstrations for the account managers
  • Follow up leads from marketing campaigns
  • Explain and promote the relevant product to prospective clients
  • Assist account managers to achieve their sales targets, and with all aspects of sales
  • Maintain and update customer database
  • Associated admin duties

Experience:

Minimum 12 months telesales experience preferably in B2B. Experience of working in the IT industry would be a definite advantage.

 

Salary & Benefits

The hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am- 5.30pm. This role requires an immediate start carries a salary of £15,000 - £22,000 per annum dependent on experience + excellent OTE. This role will be based in our head office in Oswestry, Shropshire, so candidates must live within commutable distance. There are excellent promotion prospects for successful individuals.

Account Manager, B2B IT Channel Sales

 

Job description:

Sol Distribution is interested in talking to an experienced and suitably qualified sales person to help us achieve our ambitious growth plans. Ideally, you will have a background in IT Channel Sales, in particular networking infrastructure, and be looking to use your experience to make a significant contribution in a dynamic and friendly environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3+ years’ corporate IT Sales experience with a history of working within a target driven environment and a proven track record of meeting / exceeding targets. Strong exposure to creating and developing new client relationships is required along with a proven track record in new business sales success. The ideal candidate would be office-based, although the nature of the role will require a lot of time in the field. Remote working would be considered for the right applicant.

Key Skills:

  • A strong IT sales background, ideally coming from a IT Distributor/Reseller
  • Experience in developing new business opportunities with the ability build rapport at director-level
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email and face-to-face
  • Ability to build a strong rapport and lasting relationships with existing channel partners in order to grow the account and increase revenues
  • Experience of meeting and exceeding targets
  • Accurate forecasting of anticipated sales and regular activity reporting

Responsibilities:

  • Attend face to face meetings with partners and their clients
  • Develop a strong knowledge of our solutions portfolio and be able to articulate their benefits to channel partners
  • Build a sustainable pipeline of both run-rate and larger, bid opportunities
  • Telephone prospecting and appointment setting, with participation in regular office-based call out days
  • Using the company’s CRM system to log activity and manage your schedule
  • Following up warm leads from marketing campaigns

 

Technical Skills:

  • The applicant must be computer literate, and able to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel), experience of using a CRM system would be an advantage.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
